My ARs are both made with lightweight 16″ barrels. And, while I enjoy them both, it seems increasingly bland and redundant. I am giving serious consideration to selling the carbine-gassed upper, stripping the accessories off the 11″ handguard and selling it, and putting the money toward a 10.5″ upper. And form a trust to file and SBR the aluminum lower.
Then mount my Aimpoint PRO and old skinny tapered clamshells to the stubby upper and have a handier bedside carbine. Going to run the idea by my wife and take it from there.
Really just posting this to brainstorm and distract myself while my lower back has a tantrum.
