Gave myself a nice, ragged finger-piercing with a tooth on the rear cassette of the hybrid. Because the chain decided to jump off the sprocket and into my spokes. On a steep hill. In the road. While towing a load. And I poked my shin with the pedal trying to keep everything from crashing downhill.

Think it’s time to adjust the rear derailleur. Which marks the first problem the bike has given me in two years of steady use and next to no preventive maintenance. I’ll just hope the brand new chain banging around hasn’t trashed the cassette. And also that the derailleur hangar isn’t bent.
