Is a thing of beauty.

Oregon Trail with hookers and grenades.
*Seriously, they were going to stay through supper, but were worried about the “blizzard.”
Some of my wife’s family is up visiting from Mass. While dealing with a house full of flatlanders is a tad trying, there are two benefits:
- My wife is a bit happier now. Always a good thing.
- Jack Frost likes to toy with visitors from the Volksrepublic as much as I do and has seen fit to greet them with a decent snowfall. Another foot, and I am good to snowshoe! And the ski mountains will be in good shape so I don’t trash my nice suicide sticks on thin trails!
Anyway, back to family time.
I just ordered three boxes of Federal’s spiffy HST, three boxes of Winchester SXTs, a G19 magazine, and a Littmann Master Classic II from the comfort of my kitchen counter.
When my grandfather was my age, television was just becoming common, mail order catalogs were all the rage, radios were still stationary items and were just being put into cars, the C.B. was the bees knees for instant communication, videogames did not exist, and movies were only seen at the cinema. The Aspire One I am blogging from is the size of a quarterly Cabela’s catalog and gives me instant acces to almost any store in the world, has a video camera, can rent/save movies, be used as a television or radio, is a typewriter, a newspaper, a bookshelf, and an outright arcade. What is the world going to look like when I have great-grandchildren?
And no, the irony of shoping for the means to cause a pneumothorax at the same time as a tool to help identify one is not lost on me.
My paycheck has been tossed out with the junk mail. Time to call H.R. for a new one and pay whatever idiot tax this company charges.
It was a very Busy Christmas weekend and I have just been informed that my deductible for the car will not be waived. Posting will be a tad slow while I recover.
